This set of short stories was the second book MJ Kazmierski ever wrote, after being exiled from Poland to England in 1984 and beginning to study in London. During his literature studies at Sussex University, Strawberry Hill, West London, he realized he wanted to be a writer, influenced by the likes of William Shakespeare, William Blake, Anton Chekhov, Joseph Conrad, Mark Twain, Jan Brzechwa, Jack Kerouac, Sam Shepard and Margaret Attwood. These short stories were written after MJ failed to find an agent and a publisher for his first novel - they detail MJ's experiences of life in London, England and Warsaw, Poland - most are strictly autobiographical
